Wacks Tough Grass

WEDDING WG775 14 Inch Cordless Removable Collection

WG775 14 Inch Cordless Removable Collection

Fabulous machine! I hate power tools, but I'm keeping this one. Runs all day (I'm glad I bought a second battery anyway). runs right over molehills, mulches leaves and everything up great, chops down runaway Raspberry suckers like they weren't even there - I couldn't be happier. It whirrs, but doesn't scream like all my neighbors' roaring and stinking Saturday morning peace-breakers. Some days I can't even work in the garden, the neighbors' mowers spew out such noxious fumes. Narrow, but gets real close to walls, and under and between bushes, which more than compensates. Very light weight, even with the battery, effortless to lift and maneuver. One reviewer warned that the height setting came undone when backing up, but I haven't encountered that problem at all. In fact, I haven't found any problems at all! It's wonderful.

  1. Mower arrived quickly and was very easy to assemble. After charging the battery we tried it out and were very impressed. Our grass is long but wilty and we weren't sure the small mower would work, but it performed well. Since we have a small size yard, the size of the mower was not a problem. Also, there was no problem with the charge. It went over our entire yard with no problem. Easy to store for winter as well.

  2. Yes, she still loves to do yardwork and this is the perfect mower for her! So lightweight and easy to manuever!! The battery is the heaviest thing on the mower. Super easy to assemble, took less than a half an hour to put it all together. Charged the battery and now it's ready to go!

  3. If you have a small yard or tight area to mow this is perfect. Very compact, powerful and easy to charge. Handle folds nicely with a quick release and the bag system is designed well for easy removal. NOT for large yards but ideal for townhouses or anyone who has trouble handling a standard mower.

  4. This mower works much better than you can possibly believe! When you open the box, you just have to laugh, because it looks like the toy one that you pushed up and down the hall when you were a kid. OK; give it a try anyway. Shocker, this thing actually works! It is extremely light and solved my issues after open heart surgery left my chest bone separated. No matter what kind of self propelled you have you still have to back up sometime, and 110 lbs is not easy to drag, so I bought this really thinking I would just be throwing away $200.00, but worth a try. I have now used it one entire season, and I love it. Never sore after mowing a large yard, front and back. Surprisingly it mows damp grass with ease. Only time I have ever run out of charge before completing the job was after vacation, where the grass was Very high and Very wet. Got about 85% done and had to wait two hours for the charge to finish the job.

  6. Very satisfied with the WORX 775 mower so far, in spite of its lilliputian size. It's so cute and quiet that my eleven year old daughter has even expressed an interest in operating it.

Battery life is a key issue in these electric devices and it remains to be seen how long this one will last, as this will determine total cost of ownership since new batteries can be quite expensive. I am referring to lifetime, not the cycle time or minutes of operation between charging. As far as the latter is concerned, I mowed my one-tennis-court-sized-lawn with two green lights still left on the charge indicator, so I know the mower has plenty of power to get the job done. The battery is a standard lead-acid type, not lithium-ion, the same type of battery as used in most golf carts and GEM electric vehicles.

It was nice to mow the lawn with a machine so light that I did not even work up a sweat.

I've used the mower just once so far, and will update review as necessary.

  7. Works great. Battery lasts longer than I expected. Very light. Easy to use in ditches and slopes. Also, quiet enough I can get up early and not disturb my neighbors

  8. I am using this mower for the third season and it is still going strong. My yard is pretty small but I cut some tough weeds in the alley and the little Worx mower never flinches. Great maneuverability and ease of operation and maintenance. Charge the battery and sharpen the blade and that's it. I have used it in bagging and mulching mode and both work fine. If the grass is thick and wet, the cut can get a little ragged so I usually go over it twice which is no big deal since the yard is so small.

The only real issue is that the battery charger doesn't always shut off and the battery gets hot when it overcharges. I bought a simple timer that shuts off the charger after .5/3/6 hours - see my other review of the charger.
